Song of the Day – Fingers Inc. – Mystery Of Love

Ambient music. Sure, there was Brian Eno and many others starting back in the 70s who made atmospheric music that influenced future musicians. But I think most can agree that when it comes to the genre ‘ambient house’ – it all started with Larry Heard. The singles ‘Mystery Of Love’ by Fingers Inc and Washing Machine / Can You Feel It / Beyond The Clouds by Mr. Fingers were made during the start of Chicago’s house music scene but existed in a world all their own.

From the liner notes for the Fingers Inc album ‘Another Side’: “Jack means nothing to me”, claimed Larry at the height of Chicago’s jackmania, “Our songs are about our experiences and beliefs.”

Song of the Day – Reese & Santonio – Bounce Your Body To The Box / Force Field / The Sound

Here’s some good Detroit stuff. The first mix of Bounce Your Body To The Box is still one of my favorites to this day. The other songs are cool too.
